Press Release Summary = From his early days in the United States to serving his country in the Navy, Gary V. Lloyd has led an interesting life and now he’s set to give some of the corporate elite in Asia his talent and expertise.
Press Release Body = Who is Mr. Gary V. Lloyd? Well currently he’s 47 years of age, but he was born in Tulsa Oklahoma along with two brothers of near age and his Mother and father are still married after 50 years. Gary V. Lloyd upon completion of high school joined the US Navy in 1976 and served actively aboard the USS Enterprise CVN-65 a Operations Division intelligence photographer. His technical training was provided by US Navy joint affiliation program with Rochester Institute of Technology. During his active period he worked primarily as a photographic lab technician, public relations, voice commercials for Arm Forces Radio TV, and aerial reconnaissance photography.
After being honorably discharged, Gary Lloyd discovered his unique talent in photographing people. With an intensive background in photographic theory, he was quickly able to apply his years of Naval field experience towards a long and creative career in fashion photography. By the mid 80’s Gary partnered with an old friend to produce the largest apparel direct market mailer company in the US. Using a “turnkey” approach to packaging photography, four color printing, Lloyd quickly took the apparel industry in New York to Los Angeles by storm.
“By the turn of the mid 90’s, I saw that the emergence of digital was soon to make my efforts obsolete” said Mr. Gary V. Lloyd and after years of working with start up apparel companies Lloyd discovered even a stronger and more challenging talent, in corporate design and packaging. Quite simply put, many start up’s to existing companies have no idea how to get their company image on the map. In addition capital is always a problem, but before you can approach a bank, private investor, venture capitalist, or do a private placement offering, you must have the corporate image and infrastructure properly in place.
To do this, Lloyd carefully analyzes the prospective company, its products, directors and current image. Once a decision is made to proceed with the project, Lloyd must begin the arduous task of preparing the company’s initial “red herring “, its formal business plan, establishing proper venues to operate out of, develop their websites for either just image or e-commerce. After all of this completed, then Lloyd seeks out various venture capital groups who are interested in raising either start up to mezzanine capital. Gary told us in a recent report that “Most of my clients are looking for anywhere between 2 to 20 million USD to fuel their ideas”. Lloyd generally oversees the entire process from start to finish, often times insisting that his clients place him on the advisory board as their Senior Corporate Advisor.
All this work and success has not had it history of problems for Lloyd either. During our interview he told us of some of his past projects, “Several years back I was asked to hold a CEO slot on a corporate board, as well as Senior Vice President on another. We were using a new VC group that later turned out to operate in a Boiler Room fashion. Calling it a disaster is an understatement when you unexpectedly get caught up with these types.” He then continued to talk more on these “Boiler Room” VC groups, “They usually come off very smooth and professional in the beginning, delivering substantial capital gains for the clients, then you later find out everything you have created has been mirrored and the funds redirected to fake company accounts and your name becomes inadvertently associated through web forums from disgruntled and misled investors.” We all find that the unfortunate thing is that most of these companies that the “Boiler Rooms” get a hold of are very sincere and above board. Gary further said “I have personally witnessed the demise of several good companies due to the cross fire of bad press associated with these types of VC groups.”
Nowadays, Gary takes a much more cautious approach to finding the right group to represent a capital raise for his clients. In addition, he reinforces the companies he constructs with the highest degree of internet security available. The bottom line is that this companies represented must achieve sufficient capitalization to either launch their ideas or products, or go for public offering.
Although Gary cautions all investors that with any new company or idea there are always inherent risks, and there is a possibility that their investment may never yield a return.
Gary’s most recent project is with a company called AgroMicron, which is promising to be one of his best projects. “AgroMicron has so much potential, I’m happy to be part of such a great team” was the comment made by Gary during this interview. Gary has taken a Senior Corporate Advisor role with AgroMicron and hopes that his positive and negative experiences can all be made useful in ensuring a strong future for AgroMicron.
